Soft as Snow is the Berlin-based, Norwegian duo of Oda Starheim and Øystein Monsen. With rough sampling, slippery rhythms and noisy textures, they explore themes of vulnerability, intimacy, and glitchy sensuality. Their raw electronic productions are accompanied by Oda’s shapeshifting voice creating a warped-yet-warm physicality. The duo’s latest album was released on genre-agnostic Portland label Beacon Sound and features London MC Brother May (CURL). Their catalogue further includes full-length releases on notable labels such as fabric’s imprint Houndstooth and Infinite Machine, as well as a series of noise-driven impro based work on progressive tape labels.

Soft as Snow have toured extensively performing in clubs, festivals and art galleries across Europe and the USA, including Robot Festival (IT), L.E.V. Festival (ES), Lunchmeat Festival (CZ), Athens Digital Arts Festival (GR), Roter Salon, Volksbühne (DE), Berghain (DE), Coaxial Arts (USA), Rubber Gloves (USA), Soy Capitán Gallery (DE) and Disconnect <code> (IT), and completed artist residency at Friche la Belle de Mai (FR).
